English Language Arts
No longer is Reading and Writing separated. State Standards mandate the two subjects are taught simultaneously and in every core subject as well.
Social Studies / History
Learning about where we have come from is a State mandated requirement. Students begin in Kindergarten learning about their basic surroundings and by middle grades are looking at historical occurrences in both the United States and the World
Far beyond basic computational skills, State Standards mandate students should be able to manipulate, apply, and go beyond basic theories.
The State believes, as do we, that the body is just as important as the mind. Physical Education and the understanding of basic sports and games are taught state-wide
Students are still tested on these State Standards with FCAT 2.0 in 5th and 8th grade; however the rigor and expectations are just as high in all other grade levels
